How fit do you need to be to join
Junior Hero Academy?
You do not
need to be fit at all; I make sure that every exercise is designed for all
abilities to take part.
Are you a superhero yourself, Krish?
Although I
would clearly make a brilliant superhero, I am a mere mortal, just like you - I
know, it’s hard to believe!
Do I need to bring anything with me?
You’ll need
your PE kit and some trainers or plimsoles and a bucket load of enthusiasm and
determination. A bottle of water
is vital as well.
How quickly should I expect to become superhero
fit?
That
depends entirely on you. I can
give you a great workout plan that is easy to do and easy to follow but the
rest is down to you. You need a
healthy diet, an active life, plenty of sleep and a bit of sunshine.
Once a week is a start but it would make a huge
difference if you were to do these exercises at home a couple more times a week
or get out on your bike, go for long walks or use those monkey bars in the
park! If you do that, you should
see positive changes in a matter of weeks!
What kinds of exercise will we do at Junior
Hero Academy?
We will
start off with some warm-ups and dynamic stretches to raise your pulse and
mobilise your joints. After that
we will do simple circuit training where you move quickly from one body-weight
exercise to another, designed to give you a full body workout without the need
for weights or a gym. We will
finish with some core stability exercises designed to improve your posture and agility
and a gentle warm down with static stretches at the end.
What if I can’t do some of the exercises?
Don’t worry!
I have a variety of ways to make each
exercise easier so that you can build up in your own time at your own pace and
also ways to make them more challenging for the super-fit!
What’s the point? Can’t I just carry on the way I am?
Of course
you can but Junior Hero Academy has the power to change your life! The more active you are, the better you
feel. The fitter you are, the
easier everyday tasks become. The
stronger you are, the more powerful you feel and all of these go towards
building self esteem and developing a healthy attitude that will take you into
adulthood ahead of the game!
